The nutrients in SYBASoil will run out in ~6 months on average. We recommend refeeding by removing the top part of the soil and adding 10-20% of the volume with fresh worm castings.
You can store SYBASoil for about 2 years. Make sure to store it cool, dark and closed off. The effectiveness of the nutrients can degrade over the years. Simply add some fresh worm castings to give the soil new life.
We recommend repotting once any of these things happen:
- You see roots growing out of the bottom of the pot
- The soil dries very quickly between watering
- The plant is top-heavy and wants to fall over
- Roots are pushing the plant up and out of the container
- Every 1 to 2 years
It does depend on the way you mix it, so experiment and see what works best!
Our packaging can be recycled at your local plastic recycling facility.
You can also re-use it for storage, or leave a little soil and use it as a propagation box!
The difference in plastic used for 2x5L bags v.s. 1x10L bag is very minimal since larger bags also require much thicker plastic.

Nach 3 Monaten kann ich ganz ehrlich sagen, dass ich wirklich absolut begeistert bin. Calatheas haben ja nicht grad den besten Ruf, aber mit dem Substrat geht es meinen besser als je zuvor. Damit ist die Pflege super easy geworden und ich muss kaum was machen, damit es ihnen gut geht.
De grond ziet erg goed uit. Je ziet en voelt dat je kwaliteit in huis hebt gehaald. Mijn lepelplant is een beetje aan het sukkelen. Ik verwacht dat hij over een maand of twee een revival meemaakt.
Après 1 mois d'utilisation avec le substrat de sybotanica pour maranta, anthurium et autres plantes mes plantes s'épanouissent.
Bien drainant, aéré et légers, chaques plantes évoluent très bien.

For me it’s the best substrate you can get out there for your plants! It a good quality substrate and professional added together to give your plants the best experience which fits their needs. My plants look super healthy and are thriving! I’m super happy and will definitely continue to buy from them! I tried many Substrate brands and sybotanica by far does the best job. It’s not only a good substrate in its quality but also is specialized on the different plant types and their different needs.
